In addition to success in the arena, the IHSA is proud to recognize outstanding academic achievement by its members. The IHSA also looks to acknowledge students who have demonstrated multiple year dedication to their team while maintaining academic excellence.
IHSA NATIONAL ALL ACADEMIC AWARDS
The purpose of the IHSA National All-Academic Award is to recognize the individual academic achievements of our participating undergraduate and alumni members each year. IHSA members will be named to the All-Academic First Team or All-Academic Second Team when they have been nominated by their coach, advisor, or designated representative, and have met the following criteria: First Team (GPA of 3.8 or higher) or Second Team (GPA 3.5 or higher).
A nominee must be a full-time undergraduate student or an alumni rider who is a paid member of the IHSA (and USHJA as per rule 1202 B) and must have participated in a at least one regular season IHSA horse shows during the academic year (as defined by IHSA rules). Winners will be recognized in the IHSA National Program, in IHSA media and receive a certificate of recognition. Nomination deadline is March 18.

IHSA SENIOR ACADEMIC ACHIEVEMENT AWARD
This award recognize seniors who have earned a 3.5 GPA or higher. To be considered, the applicant must have been on an intercollegiate riding team for three full years, if they attended a four-year college or university, and two full years if they attended a two-year institution. Recipients of this award will be named in the 2020 IHSA National Horse Show program and receive a certificate of recognition for their achievement. Submission deadline is March 30.

IHSA SENIOR ACADEMIC ACHIEVEMENT ESSAY AWARD
IHSA Senior Athletic Academic Achievement Essay Award has the same requirements as the Senior Athletic Achievement Award and in addition, the applicant must submit a 500-word essay about how the intercollegiate experience and academic achievement have prepared them for a future career. The winner will receive a $500 cash prize and the winning essay will be published in the IHSA National Horse Show program. Submission deadline is March 30.
