Valley Forge Military Academy and College Hosts Inaugural All-Alumni Tournament and Alumni Cup for IHSA Riders

Radnor Township, PA—July 31, 2012—The first annual All-Alumni Tournament for Intercollegiate Horse Show Association (IHSA) riders, at Valley Forge Military Academy and College, July 29, in Radnor Township, PA, drew competitors from five states – Connecticut, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania and Virginia -- and crowned an inaugural Alumni Cup champion, Amy Kriwitsky from the University of Connecticut (UConn).

Organizer Lena Andrews Licata said, “We had an incredibly successful day with seventeen riders from five states competing.  Judge Louise Kass put each class through some difficult tests over fences, and on the flat, no one escaped dropping stirrups! At the end of the day we crowned four class champions and first Alumni Cup winner.

“I heard from many riders that this was ‘just what they needed’ as a warm-up for the IHSA show season starting in September.”

Class champions were as follows:

Alumni Flat Champion, Amanda Cavanaugh, Susquehanna University (Z3R1)
Advanced Flat Champion, Emily Rosen, West Chester University (Z3R2)
2'3 Fences Champion, Rebecca Del Pizzo, Arcadia University (Z3R2)
2'6 Fences Champion, Debbie Kaufman, University of Connecticut (Z2R5)
