IHSA Welcomes World Equestrian Center as Sponsor

World Equestrian Center Ocala is slated to open in 2021

FAIRFIELD, Conn. – March 3, 2020 – The Intercollegiate Horse Shows Association (IHSA) is proud to partner with the World Equestrian Center (WEC) and welcome them as a sponsor for the regular and postseasons. World Equestrian Center has made the equestrian sport more accessible to a wide range of riders including the IHSA collegiate athletes who wish to advance both their horsemanship and sportsmanship.

World Equestrian Center in Wilmington, Ohio, is a state-of-the-art climate-controlled indoor and outdoor equestrian competition facility with on-site housing that produces 32 popular US Equestrian-rated shows per year. In 2021, the much-anticipated World Equestrian Center Ocala location is slated to open. It will be the largest equestrian complex in the U.S. and will feature a five-star luxury hotel, 17 outdoor arenas and four climate-controlled indoor arenas.

World Equestrian Center is named the title sponsor for the Limit Equitation divisions, which include both the individual and team over fences and flat classes. The over fences classes are limited to riders who have not won more than six classes over fences 3-feet and must have had at least six months of professional instruction over fences within the past year. The Limit Equitation on the Flat includes riders who have not won more than five equitation classes on the flat or never competed in Second Level or above dressage tests in recognized competitions.

The World Equestrian Center/Chagrin Saddlery mobile boutique will be on hand at Nationals in Syracuse, New York to enrich the shopping experience. From riding and show apparel to equestrian-inspired fashion and accessories, the mobile boutique is a must-stop while at Nationals.

The Intercollegiate Horse Shows Association (IHSA) welcomes men and women of all riding levels and offers individual and team competition in hunter seat equitation, Western horsemanship and reining at more than 400 member colleges and universities. Membership in IHSA means that college students can participate in horse shows regardless of their experience or financial status.
