IHSA National Championships Over the Top with New Sponsors JOTT

Fairfield, CT (March 9, 2017) The name says it all. The Intercollegiate Horse Shows Association (IHSA) and IHSA National Championships are delighted to welcome JOTT (Just Over The Top) stylish, colorful and portable sportswear as the newest sponsors of America’s oldest and largest college equestrian sport association, as IHSA celebrates the 50th anniversary of its founding during its national titles competition, May 4-7, in the Alltech Arena of the Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington.  JOTT will be presenting a total of 16 jackets and 16 vests to all hunt seat and western division national champions.
IHSA Vice President and US Military Academy at West Point equestrian team coach Peter Cashman said, “As IHSA celebrates 50 years since its founding and looks forward to continuing to serve more than 400 institutions and 9,000 college riders, we are ‘just over the top’ welcoming JOTT as a sponsor at such an important period in our history.”
Five years ago, while traveling through France, Nikki DiConza discovered a fashion brand called JOTT (Just Over The Top) and within two months, became its director of North American sales and began growing the brand here.  Designed in Marseille, France, the colorful ultra-lightweight, machine-washable, packable down vests, jackets and coats are designed for men, women and children, and the collection introduces new trending colors and styles twice a year.
“The equestrian world has come to appreciate JOTT for its comfort and stylish European fit, in addition to its warmth and layering abilities,” said DiConza. “JOTT is now a staple garment for many equestrians and we are proud to be a sponsor of the 2017 IHSA Nationals.”
Practical and portable JOTT outerwear compacts into its own tidy travel bag (which fits in a glove compartment or backpack), making vests and jackets truly on-the-go for outdoor activities including not only horseback riding but antiquing, bicycling, golfing, hiking, sailing or skiing, and anywhere that staying warm and comfortable is the most classic style of all.  Find the complete catalog of JOTT’s practical yet portable with panache line at
IHSA promotes competition for full time student riders of all skill levels, who compete individually and as teams at regional to national levels based on the principle that any college student should be able to participate in horse shows regardless of financial status, gender or riding level. In 2017 IHSA celebrates the Golden 50th Anniversary of its 1967 founding by Fairleigh-Dickinson University sophomore Robert E. 'Bob' Cacchione and today serves more than 400 member institutions and 10,000 riders annually. Visit and follow IHSA on Facebook and Instagram for more about Bob's 50th Anniversary Tour, IHSA teams, scholarships and alumni riding programs.

Spotlight Horse April 2017

Spotlight horse April 2017

Farm Name: Cornerstone Farm
Show Name: Cornerstone’s Star
Owner: Marisa Kalmar, Coach, Lehigh University
Breed: QH cross mare
Divisions Used in: Walk Trot through Open – Zone 3 Region 4

Star is loved far and wide. She was rescued when she was two from a terrible situation and she quickly learned how great life could be when it involved loving students.  She has taken riders from the Mini-Short Stirrup division through the Large Pony Hunter division in both local and rated horse shows, and has done the equivalent for many IHSA riders.  A Lafayette student created an Instagram tribute thanking her for many great performances including a win that helped her to qualify for Regionals.  Coaches feel confident when their riders draw Star, especially the ones new to IHSA competition.  She is now 20 years old and has participated in IHSA competition for almost 15 years!
